We have been incorporating Flouride Varnish in our patient’s Perio Therapy (Cleaning) appointments to help prevent decay in adults and children. Fluoride Varnish contains a high concentration of fluoride that is in gel-like form that is painted onto the teeth after your perio therapy appointment. This is a preventative tool that we use to help keep your teeth strong and decay free. A recent study by University of California San Francisco (UCSF) shows the benefit of frequent Fluoride Varnish applications.
UCSF Research study:
“The study found that children receiving no fluoride varnish were more than twice as likely to have dental caries as those who had annual varnish treatments, and nearly four times as likely to have cavities than children who received fluoride varnish at six-month intervals.”
